The local chapter of the American Cancer Society held its annual “Belles and Beaus on the Cane” announcement party & fundraiser Thursday, September 5th. The event drew a room full of people at a local restaurant to help create a world with more birthdays and to honor 5 local survivors. The attendees enjoyed drinks, hors d’ oeuvres and a drawing for a pearl necklace and other exciting prizes.

The survivors who will be honored at the Belles and Beaus on the Cane Gala were introduced. They are: Seth Freeman, Michael Cayer, Mindy Stokes, Janette Graham Melton and Chari Addison.

The Natchitoches Chapter of the American Cancer Society asks the community to “save the date” for the 2019 Belles & Beaus on the Cane Gala on Thursday, October 24. This event, along with Relay for Life are the Cancer Society’s signature fundraisers. Let’s make this a banner year and give the American Cancer Society the tools to fight this insidious disease.
The ACA is the largest private organization dedicated to fighting cancer, second only to the federal government. Tickets for the event may be purchased online at the society’s website or by calling the office at 318-219-1668.
