School of Instruction for new election commissioners will be held Tuesday

Natchitoches Parish Clerk of Court David Stamey announces that the School of Instruction for new election commissioners will be held September 10, 2019 5:30 at the Natchitoches Parish Courthouse Courtroom, second floor. This school is for new persons wanting to be certified as Election Commissioners. If you are a current election commissioner, you do not need to attend.

The qualifications to be an election commissioner are: You must be a qualified voter who does not require assistance in voting. You must not be a candidate in the election or an immediate family member of a candidate at the precinct in which you serve. You must not have been convicted of an election offense and you must attend a course of instruction for commissioners.

By attending this school, you would be eligible to be selected to work at one of the election precincts on Election Day. Pay is $200.00 per election.

A drawing is held prior to elections to determine Commissioners. An election school is held prior to the election for those commissioners drawn.

This Fall’s elections are Saturday October 12 and Saturday November 16.
