  1. I live on the corner of St Maurice and Nettie and when it rains my yard is a nightmare!!! I already take water from both Streets with no help from the City when the water is knee deep and I can’t get out of my drive way! My yard floods and I can’t keep grass!! That said WHY build THAT many houses on 6 acres?? What purpose will it serve? The traffic on St Maurice from Williams to East fifth is a complete nightmare especially before and after school! Not to mention ALL FREAKING DAY AND NIGHT!! There will be limited parking in this complex to begin with so where do you think their “company/guests” park? Let me tell you they will proceed to park on the side of the road or in our yards! St Maurice at Williams already floods during a small rain imagine what it’s going to be if they build this!!! The crime in our neighborhood has already been horrible as well and police can’t keep up!! Let’s just add 30 more houses in said neighborhood for them to have to patrol!!! This has to be the most ignorant plan I’ve ever seen! Taking off an entire day of work to be at this meeting! I want answers to what assistance will be given to the existing homeowners if this is passes with the issues we are already facing on top of what this project will cause???

    • Rally your troops! Of course I mean your neighbors and show up for this meeting.

But, I think at least two on the city council will vote against this ill-conceived plan, and probably at least one more.

  2. Seems as if anything that affects the Williams avenue area is denied. I wonder who is really pulling the strings in Natchitoches.

  3. Spoke to someone who lives on Williams Ave and they are very upset about this proposed project by Rodes Properties, and even more so by this attempt to slip this appeal hearing past the public. Usually I would dismiss such conspiracy theories but since it involves Posey and the city council, I lean toward believing it.

Why isn’t this hearing at 6PM like all others? She thinks it’s because Posey knows people work and he’s hoping for minimal opposition to be able to show up.

And why is Rodes wanting to squeeze in 30 houses on 6 acres, and have all the concrete instead of grass? Where’s all the water going to go when it rains hard? Yep! right into her backyard.

Seems to me there is plenty of open land in Natchitoches Parish to build a housing project. Why there?

I don’t live anywhere near there, so it won’t affect me. But much like the silly $12 million baseball park, and buying an old beer warehouse, this is just more ridiculous thinking by Posey. And to think I voted for him. Won’t make that mistake again.
