Natchitoches Parish Clerk of Court David Stamey has a few notices for Election Day, this Saturday October 12, 2019. All 50 precincts will be operating at 42 different polling places from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
Please bring and be ready to show a government issued ID at the poll. When going to the poll to vote, don’t wear a shirt, hat, button or sticker of a candidate that is on the current ballot. No campaign signs shall be placed on public property within 600 feet of the front door of any polling place.
There are two polling place changes for the October and November elections. The first change is a temporary change for just the Fall elections. The citizens of the Melrose area who normally vote at the St. Augustine Catholic Church will vote at the Cypress Voting Building on LA Hwy 1 just south of Four Way.
A new permanent polling place has been established for the citizens in the Fairgrounds Road area, Airport Road Area, Town South and Pan Am Subdivisions and NSU students that live on campus. They will now vote at the Restoration Apostolic Ministries Church building located at 175 Fairgrounds Road.
Citizens of both of these precincts have received new voter cards alerting them of the change.
With over 15% of the total registered voters voting early, Stamey is looking at a busy Election Day and thanks the over 200 Election Commissioners, Deputy Custodians, members of the Board of Election Supervisors and Deputies of the Clerk of Court’s office that work Saturday helping to insure and safe and accurate election.
