NCHS students celebrate WorkKeys success

Almost 100 Natchitoches Central seniors are gathered to celebrate earning a silver, gold, or platinum level certificate on the ACT WorkKeys Assessment, which measures the foundational skills required for success in the workplace. Unlike other standardized assessments, ACT WorkKeys is more than just an indication of reading and writing competency; instead, WorkKeys verifies the skills found to be most essential across various industries and occupations. Individuals who successfully complete the three WorkKeys assessments—Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents—earn the WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate, a valuable credential for students and job seekers who want to verify their readiness to apply foundational workplace skills.

Students who earn at least a silver WorkKeys certificate show proficiency in problem solving, critical thinking, reading and using work-related texts, applying information from workplace documents to solve problems, applying mathematical reasoning to work-related problems, setting up and performing work-related mathematical calculations, locating, synthesizing, and applying information that is presented graphically, and comparing, summarizing, and analyzing information presented in multiple related graphics.
