  1. No they never take the recovered patients off the list. If so the state number would be around 10,000. The daily report shows 17,000+ have recovered yet total cases are 27,000. I agree with Jim. We don’t have 74 infected people walking around. I subtracted the 3 deaths from the number.

  2. The real numbers for Natchitoches until recently were wrong, all because a nursing home was not doing what they they should be doing. There are elderly patients and employees both who have the virus, and have had it for a while some report, have not been treated, and many just ignored. So that 64 percentage rate given would not be true for Natchitoches because of this one nursing home. Many of the newly reported cases I’m afraid will not recover. They are elderly, ill and were put into a nursing home because they needed full time care, their resistance is low, and they were not being treated for the virus. They were left in the care of a nursing home that wanted to play “let’s pretend.” I wonder how many law suites will be filed for negligence. More important than that, I wonder how many of these poor, sick, elderly people will not make it because of a negligent nursing home.

  3. How many of the 77 cases have recovered? Would be interesting to know. And if they recover to they get taken off the list ?Just curious..

    • Statewide it is being reported that 64% of those who had it, confirmed, have recovered. If we assume that percentage applies here, then 49 of those 77 should have recovered leaving 18 active cases for Natchitoches Parish. But, there are some assumptions in this analysis so the real number could be something else.
