LDH Update for 05/06/20; Natchitoches: 91 Cases/8 Deaths

Baton Rouge, La. (May 6, 2020) — The Louisiana Department of Health has updated its website to reflect the latest number of COVID-19 positives and will continue to update its website at noon each day.
Today’s update was delayed due to a server being down temporarily.

The Department reports 403 new cases, bringing the total of COVID-19 cases to 30,399. A total of 1,465 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized; of those, 187 patients require ventilation. Information on available hospital beds, ICU beds, and hospital vents is on the LDH dashboard.

The Department reports a total of 2,094 confirmed deaths.

COVID-19 data on nursing homes and other adult residential facilities were also impacted by today’s network issues and will be updated tomorrow.
