A Cloutierville man was arrested on domestic abuse charges following an altercation early Tuesday morning according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday afternoon July 14 at approximately 12:43pm, deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Division responded to a reported domestic disturbance in the 2100 block of La. Hwy 495 in Cloutierville, La.
Deputies say upon their arrival, they met the female victim.
While speaking with the victim, she advised them that she and her boyfriend (James P. George) had been living together since September 2019.
She further stated that when he arrived home from work on Tuesday morning shortly after midnight, he allegedly beat her most of the night causing injuries to both of her eyes (black eyes) and bruising to various parts of her body.
She stated when George went to sleep she went to an undisclosed neighbor’s residence asking for help.
Injuries confirmed by responding deputies.
Deputies photographed the victim’s injuries, obtained a statement and collected information for an offense report.
Deputies then went to a residence in the 2100 block of La. Hwy 495 where they took George into custody without incident.
James P. George, 24, of the 2100 block of La. Hwy 495, Cloutierville, La. was transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Domestic Abuse Battery.
Deputies say while transporting George to the detention center he stated “it’s her fault, but I messed up this time”.
A 10th Judicial District Court Judge has set bond at $2500.00.
Deputies offered to seek medical attention for the victim, however, she refused indicating she would treat the wounds privately.
The victim was issued a LAVNS form which is designed to assist with quick and easy access to offender information and offender release date etc.
The case will be turned over to the District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution.
