There are many frozen and/or broken service lines in nearly every water system parish wide. These breaks in each water system are depleting the water supply at a rapid rate. It is imperative that we all conserve water using only what is necessary.
The low/no water pressure problem is likely to continue for several days as more frozen pipes thaw and more leaks are found. If you have a leak “on the customer side of your water meter”, please work to isolate it, or turn off your service and repair the leak as quickly as possible.
Many water systems are under a Boil Order. Please contact your water provider for details regarding your water system.
To assist our parish and city residents during this time I have asked our local Office of Emergency Preparedness to procure bottled drinking water. As this water arrives in the parish it will be distributed with the assistance of your Parish Hwy Dept, and your local Fire Districts. Please return to this page often for further details as they are made available.
We will get through this tough time together. Stay warm, be safe, and check in with neighbors and loved ones.
