Jessica McGrath, director of the Natchitoches Parish Library, presented to the Kiwanis CLub of Natchitoches group about the A+ Coalition. One project the A+ Coalition hosts is a grant for teachers awarded for innovative technology. The criteria is listed below:
Awarded to an educator for innovative technology used to advance learning and enhance the skills of students.
Applications open March 1st; close March 31st.
Open to all Natchitoches Parish educators, currently employed by a Natchitoches Parish school, serving students in Pre-K through 12th grade in an educational setting.
Up to $7,000 will be awarded.
Any educator may apply; however, all applications must be submitted through the school Principal.
Educators should confirm which technologies are acceptable and/or allowed in their school or district.
Suggested technologies are even included in the grant application.
Depending on where we are with COVID guidelines, the Computer information Systems and Engineering Technology areas at NSU are willing to provide training sessions on the suggested technologies in the grant application.
The grant will be awarded in early May 2021.
Educators can now access the grant requirements to begin preparing for the application and brainstorming ideas for the innovative technology their students would most benefit from. The grant requirements are available at apluscoalition.com/grant.
