The Natchitoches Chapter of WOVEN (Women Veterans Network) performed one of their community service projects by lending a helping hand at the Natchitoches Food Pantry’s monthly distribution day Saturday, April 10. The veterans’ group is composed of woman veterans who come together to support and help each other. Founded in 2017, the organization’s purpose is stated on their website “…designed to enhance wellness, quality of life, family relationships, and career satisfaction by building strong connections among women Veterans.” The Natchitoches chapter has about 14 veterans and is led by Air Force veteran Valerie Minchew and Army veteran Sarah Blanchard.
The Natchitoches chapter of WOVEN is helping women veterans of all ages and backgrounds in our community. Interested veterans may contact Ms. Minchew at 318-663-1453 for information on joining. The Natchitoches Parish Journal extends its best wishes to this wonderful organization as it works to improve the lives of veterans and make our community a better place.
