Natchitoches Magnet band students participate in their first competitions

The 2020-2021 school year was the first time any Natchitoches Magnet School band student entered a competition, whether as a solo or as a band. The year saw the band earn a “Very Good” Rating and grew a great amount in a short amount of time.

Magnet had one small ensemble and two solos that earned “Excellent” ratings.

Mixed Quartet: Brayden Sanders (8th Grade) on flute, Jacob Petite (8th Grade) on tenor saxophone, Joshua Garcie (8th Grade) on trumpet, and Ryan Taylor on trumpet.

Solos: Avery Simpson (5th Grade) on Advanced Snare Drum, and Braylon Carter (5th Grade) on Trombone.

Two students earned a “Superior” Rating on Solos: Nathan Collinsworth (7th Grade) on Tuba, and Malaya Osby (5th Grade) on Alto Saxophone!
