A north Natchitoches Parish woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
This afternoon, Sept. 27, at approximately 12:37pm, Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Division, Louisiana State Police, and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a single-vehicle crash involving a injury on Interstate-49 near milepost #156 just north of the Ajax exit in Natchitoches Parish.
Deputies and EMS arrived on scene requesting an Air EVAC helicopter.
Deputies say a 28-year-old Campti woman operating a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling southbound on Interstate-49 near milepost #156 when for reasons under investigation exited the road on the right side traveling down an embankment for several hundred feet striking several trees causing the vehicle to overturn and come to a rest on it’s side.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle.
Air EVAC airlifted the vehicle operator to a Shreveport hospital with what is believed to be serious injuries.
Troopers assigned to LSP Troop-E Alexandria are investigating the crash.
