First Baptist Church of Natchitoches’ Music Ministry and Worship Ministry presented “A Thrill of Hope” to a packed church on Sunday night, December 12th.
The choir and worship team opened up with a favorite called, “It’s Christmas”. You could feel the Christmas excitement in the air as all the guests sang along. The choir was dressed in vibrant holiday colors as they welcomed the crowd. The magnificent orchestra consisted of strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion and a piano was conducted by Music Minister, Dr. Alan Shoumaker.
Soloist for the evening were Laurie Lopez, Ami Thompson and Dr. Shoumaker.
A Christmas Blessing was offered by Reverend Tommy Rush.
The highlight of the evening may belong to the Preschool Nativity scene. Mary was Lexie Procell, Rhett Ragen was Joseph, Hannah Wilkerson was an Angel, Alston Hubier and Crawford Gentry were Shepherds and Benjamin Rodriguez was the Northstar. These pre-schoolers definitely lit up the room with their budding professionalism and fine acting skills.
The guests were wowed by a solo titled, “O Come All Ye Unfaithful” sang by Lori Lopez. The bold song reminds us that all are welcome to taste the perfect love of Jesus and his promise is peace. Even the weak and unstable.
It was a beautiful night of exquisite music, fellowship and Christmas spirit. A Thrill of Hope made everyone rejoice. First Baptist Church will also have Carols by Candlelight on Christmas Eve, December 24th at 4:00pm.
