On February 23, 2022 around 2:15 p.m., an officer with the Natchitoches Police Department was working security at the J.W. Thomas Apartments when he heard a single gunshot. The officer was able to locate the suspect who fled the area on foot. Officers were able to quickly set up a perimeter and after another brief foot chase were able to arrest Tedrick White (B/M, 21 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) without incident.

Tedrick White was arrested for Illegal Use of Weapons, Resisting an Officer and Battery of a Police Officer for kicking an officer while being arrested. He was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center where he is awaiting bond.
