Natchitoches Police arrest several convicted felons for being in possession of a firearm

On May 8, 2022 around 1:09 a.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department’s ASP Unit conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Keyser Avenue and Jefferson Street. While officers were speaking with the driver and occupants they noticed a strong odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. Officers asked the driver and occupants to exit the vehicle and located an AM-15 Multi-Cal rifle.

As a result of the traffic stop:

  • Corteze King (B/M 21 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) was arrested for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Traffic Control Signals.
  • Bryan King (B/M, 34 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) was arrested for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Marijuana.
  • Kourtney King (B/M, 24 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) was arrested for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
  • Joshua Demars (B/M, 22 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) was arrested for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
  • Lewis Demars (B/M, 21 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) was arrested for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Corteze King, Bryan King, Kourtney King, Joshua Demars and Lewis Demars were all placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
