Dear Natchitoches Parish Voters,
I am coming to you to announce my intent to run for the District 7 seat on the Natchitoches Parish School Board. The simple answer as to why I am running is because I care about my community. I want to see it grow and succeed so what better way for that to happen than to invest in our children? It has been said for years that our children are our future. At one time it was said about you and me. I believe it is time for me, with the support of my family and you the voters, to make my impact and help set our children up for success anyway that I can.
I was raised in Campti and still live there today. I attended Fairview Elementary growing up and I am a PROUD 2007 graduate of Lakeview High School. I am happily married and a father of three daughters, two of which are in our public school system and the third will soon follow. The decisions made by our Superintendent and Board members directly affect my children along with yours so believe me when I say I will have the best interest of our children at heart. I started a career in oil and gas at the age of 19 and continue that today at the age of 32. For most of that time I have worked away from home. I am now blessed to have a job that allows me to be home every night with my family. I know the value of hard work. I know that hard work pays off and I will work hard for District 7 and our parish. I am a member of Freedom Life Church in Natchitoches and a firm believer that God has his place in our schools.
One thing I am just like you is a taxpayer. I believe that to have successful schools, safe schools, as well as good teachers, money must be spent. But I believe that money must be spent wisely and there must be accountability held on those spending it and maintaining what it has been spent on. Accountability is a big word for me, I feel that it must be in place from the top to the bottom. From the voters holding the board accountable, the board holding the Superintendent accountable, he or she holding their administration accountable, teachers holding students accountable, and even all the way to us parents holding our children accountable.
I hope that my youth can bring a new perspective to the board. I will be the first to admit that I do not have all the answers and do have things to learn. I ensure that I will work hard to do what is right and what is best for our children, teachers, and you the voter. I look forward to meeting all the voters of district 7 as well as anyone in our parish. My family and I would appreciate your support during my campaign. Please if you have any questions or would like to get to know me more reach out anytime. I look forward to a better future for our children and our community. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Chad Fredieu
