NPSO Detectives, Deputies assigned the Patrol Operations Bureau and Natchitoches Parish Asst. Coroner Steven Clanton responded to the scene.

Detectives taped the area off while investigating the crime scene and securing evidence.

Detectives then proceeded to find the body of LeDoux deceased inside the truck.

Natchitoches Parish Asst. Coroner Steven Clanton pronounced LeDoux dead at the scene of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Foul play is not suspected.

No further details will be released.

On Sunday July 17 at approximately 1:36pm, NPSO Deputies responded to reports of Mr. LeDoux being missing from his residence in the Provencal area.

Deputies gathered information for a missing persons report, learning that Mr. LeDoux suffered from pre-existing medical conditions and likely traveling in his black 2006 Dodge pickup truck bearing a Louisiana license plate.

Deputies issued a missing persons bolo, entered LeDoux into the National Crime Information Center, obtained assistance from the Louisiana State Police issuing a Silver Alert, and issued advisories on the NPSO social media page which had over 58,000 insights in hopes of finding him.

Throughout the day and night, NPSO deputies patrolled numerous roads and areas while family and friends joined in looking in areas LeDoux frequented.

Members of Natchitoches Parish Fire District #4 also assisted.

Sadly around 12:00pm today, the search ended when a friend found Mr. LeDoux and his truck.

The NPSO extends our sympathy to family & friends of David LeDoux.

We also express our thanks to the public who shared our press release, the Lousiana State Police, media partners, friends and all that took part in the search for Mr. LeDoux.
