The Kiwanis Club of Natchitoches invited Laura Lyles, President of the Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce to speak on Dec. 1. Lyles gave an update on the chamber, but focused primarily on the Natchitoches Economic Development Alliance (NEDA). The Natchitoches Economic Development Alliance provides leadership and support for economic development and workforce solutions in and around Natchitoches Parish.
Past President Kaitlyn Hamm presided over the meeting, giving club updates on upcoming service projects. Heather Martin gave an update on the Terrific Kids program, and Craig Caskey discussed school clubs, K-Kids and Builders Club, as well as the upcoming Key Clubs restart at local high schools. The Kiwanis club will be chartering a student club at both East Natchitoches Elementary and Natchitoches Junior High, holding charter events in early 2023.
