
The Natchitoches Parish School Board learned about Summer School, which the district will hold at eight locations, now for students in grades 2-12. Fairview will house Fairview, Goldonna and Lakeview students up to 8th grade.
Summer School will run from June 3 -27, Monday – Thursday with the exception of June 17 as a Juneteenth Holiday. Students will be on campus from 8 am – 12:45 pm, teachers from 7:15 am – 1:15 pm and coordinators from 7 am – 1:30 pm.
Meals will be provided for breakfast and lunch
Bus transportation will be provided using drop off locations
Reasons students go to summer school:
Attendance deficit
Academic deficit in one or more of the following:
2-8 Math and ELA
9-12 Algebra I, Geometry, English I, English II, Biology, US History, and Edgenuity
Students who did not meet the Bulletin 1566 Literacy requirements in 3rd-4th grades
There are 13 site coordinators, 79 teachers, 9 SPED/DESS Teachers, 1 SPED/DESS Paraprofessional, and approximately 1,400 students involved in summer school. The final student numbers will be defined by May 15. This puts roughly 15-18 students in each class.
