Police investigate city truck, lawn equipment stolen from public works department

The NPJ was informed that a vehicle and lawn equipment had been stolen from the public works department on Mill Street back on July 9. The Journal hadn’t received any information about the incident, and immediately reached out to confirm.

The Natchitoches Police Department confirmed that an officer was dispatched to the public works department after a call came in regarding a stolen work vehicle and some lawn equipment. The lock to the door where the vehicle and other items are stored had been cut.

The truck was recovered the same morning, but the investigation is ongoing. The lawn equipment items are still missing.
