Two Natchitoches Central High School students have signed job offers with RoyOMartin through the company’s Girls Can Too! workforce development program.
The students were among 16 students recognized during RoyOMartin’s recent Career Signing Day. Fourteen Central Louisiana students signed job offers during the event, while two additional students from Corrigan, Texas, signed earlier this month.
The signing day marked the first two hires from the Girls Can Too! program, which is now in its fourth year. The program connects young women in middle and high schools with successful women working at RoyOMartin, helping introduce students to career opportunities and encourage them to pursue their goals.
RoyOMartin also recognized students participating in its WoodWorks program, which is offered in more than 20 high schools across Central Louisiana and East Texas. The program provides students with instruction in applied mathematics, industrial safety and employability skills while connecting them with mentors from the company’s safety, maintenance and operations teams.
Students who complete WoodWorks earn course credit, receive a certificate of completion and are guaranteed an interview with RoyOMartin. Since the program began in 2007, approximately 70 WoodWorks graduates have gone on to work throughout the company’s operations.
Natchitoches Central High School congratulated its two Girls Can Too! candidates and recognized their achievement as they prepare to begin the next stage of their careers.
