Natchitoches Juneteenth parade rolls out the fun

Natchitoches’ fifth annual Juneteenth parade rolled through the city Friday, June 19 as over 20 units paraded from Ben D. Johnson Park and made their way through the city. The Grand Marshal was Natchitoches’ own Felicia Shantel Hardison. Miss Juneteenth and NCHS sophomore Genesis Conday ruled over the parade with her court.

The Natchitoches Hawg Riders led the parade. The Krewe of Excellence was joined by the Krewe of the Nine in bringing a welcome touch of Mardi Gras flair. Civic leaders and elected officials were joined by Masonic lodges and local churches in celebrating Juneteenth. The children lining the parade route were treated to huge quantities of candy and goodies from the various parade units.

The Natchitoches Juneteenth parade was quality family fun for all ages.
