The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place Wednesday night on Hill Avenue.
On July 22, 2026, around 9:29 p.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 1100 block of Hill Avenue in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon officers’ arrival they located the victim who was suffering from a single gunshot wound to their arm. Officers immediately began to render aid and applied a tourniquet while waiting on other first responders to arrive on scene. The victim was transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and has since been released from the hospital.
Investigators and officers were able to canvass the crime scene for additional evidence and speak with several witnesses while on Hill Avenue.
The Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
