Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detectives, with the assistance of the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau, have arrested two individuals in connection with an ongoing stolen check and forgery investigation, according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright.
The investigation began on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at approximately 2:14 p.m., when deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau were dispatched by the NATCOM 911 Center to a business in Clarence in reference to a possible forged check being used to purchase merchandise.
Deputies responded to the business, spoke with the complainant, gathered information for an offense report, and turned the case over to the NPSO Criminal Investigations Bureau for further investigation.
Detectives immediately began their investigation by identifying and contacting the owner of the checks, who confirmed the checks had apparently been stolen from a vacant property in the 4200 block of Louisiana Highway 486 near Campti, Louisiana. The account associated with the checks had reportedly been closed for approximately 10 years.
During the investigation, detectives learned that two additional stolen checks had also been used at separate businesses in Natchitoches.
With the cooperation of the affected businesses, detectives reviewed surveillance video and identified two persons of interest as 35-year-old Tiffany Ammons, of the 300 block of N. Railroad St. Powhatan, Louisiana, and 24-year-old Branden Sullivan, of the 800 block of Pardee Road near Campti, Louisiana.
Detectives also recovered merchandise that had been pawned at a local pawn shop after allegedly being purchased with the forged checks, which investigators believe were signed by Ammons.
Detectives later interviewed Ammons. Based on information obtained during the interview, along with additional evidence gathered during the investigation, detectives developed sufficient probable cause to obtain criminal arrest warrants signed by a judge of the 10th Judicial District Court for Ammons and Sullivan.
On Wednesday evening, July 22, 2026, at approximately 7:24 p.m., Deputies A. Middleton and K. Edwards, assigned to the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau, observed a white Dodge Durango traveling on Louisiana Highway 9 north of Campti occupied by Ammons and Sullivan.
Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
They were transported to the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center and booked on the following charges:

Both remain in the LaSalle Corrections/Natchitoches Parish Detention Center awaiting bond.
Detectives say the investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
