The City of Natchitoches announces the upcoming temporary closure of the intersection of Church Street at Second Street, as part of the ongoing project to replace the existing deteriorated concrete pavement on Second Street, from Church Street to Trudeau Street.
This closure, which is necessary for pouring the new concrete pavement, is planned for the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from approximately 4:00 a.m. until approximately 8:00 a.m.
During the closure, motorists on Church Street must detour around the work site via adjacent City streets.
It is anticipated that the northbound lane of this segment of Second Street [Church Street to Trudeau Street] will be re-opened to traffic before Monday, August 10. The southbound lane will remain closed, as pavement removal work continues into the next segment of Second Street from Trudeau Street to Touline Street, which will be closed to all traffic.
The City of Natchitoches appreciates the patience of the public as this construction work proceeds and urges motorists to heed all advance warning signs and other traffic control devices.
