
After unveiling the non-conference schedule Tuesday, including a visit from LSU to Prather Coliseum, the Northwestern State women’s basketball team has been issued the Southland Conference portion of its schedule, completing the 2026-27 slate.
Ticket information for all games will be released later, officials said.
The SLC women’s basketball teams learned their conference schedules Thursday morning. Every team plays both home and away against the 11 other Southland institutions.
Once again, NSU begins conference play in early December, as it opens with a trip to reigning conference tournament champion Stephen F. Austin on Dec. 2.
After two non-conference games following the SFA contest, NSU wraps up 2026 with three of four on the road in SLC play, marking four of the first five conference games being on the road for a difficult start to league play.
Overall, NSU has six of the first eight conference games away from Natchitoches, as the Lady Demons host LSU-New Orleans (formerly UNO) on Jan. 2 before traveling to UTRGV on Jan. 7 and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Jan. 9.
NSU gets extended time in front of the home fans through the rest of January with a string of five of six at Prather Coliseum, starting with Houston Christian on Jan. 14.
Also at home during the stretch are games against UIW (Jan. 16), Nicholls (Jan. 23), Lamar (Jan. 23) and SFA (Jan. 30).
The final road stretch of the season is a string of four games away from home in a five-game stretch, starting with a trip to East Texas A&M on Feb. 6.
NSU has a chance to build up major confidence going into the Southland Tournament, as it wraps up the regular season with three consecutive games at Prather Coliseum.
The Demons wrap up February with contests against UTRGV (Feb. 25) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 27) before wrapping up the regular season on March 1 against Southeastern.
The tournament heads back to Lake Charles on the campus of McNeese, going from March 8-11.
