While awaiting clearance from a few non-conference opponents to announce those games, the Northwestern State men’s basketball team now knows the majority of its 2026-27 schedule.
The Demons and the other 11 Southland Conference men’s basketball teams learned their conference schedules Thursday morning as the league enters its second consecutive season of true round-robin competition.
Northwestern will split its 22 Southland games evenly between Prather Coliseum and road trips. The SLC slate includes seven home doubleheader dates for NSU, with the Lady Demons and Demons entertaining the same conference visitor.
The Demons will host games against McNeese (Dec. 19 – DH), Southeastern Louisiana (Dec. 21), LSU-New Orleans (Jan. 2 – DH), UIW (Jan. 16 – DH), Houston Christian (Jan. 18), Nicholls (Jan. 23 – DH), East Texas A&M (Jan. 30 – DH), Stephen F. Austin (Feb. 1), Lamar (Feb. 8), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 27 – DH) and UTRGV (March 1 – DH).
Northwestern hits the road for Southland matchups against Lamar (Dec. 5), Stephen F. Austin (Dec. 29), Nicholls (Jan. 4), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Jan. 9), UTRGV (Jan. 11), LSU-New Orleans (Jan. 26), East Texas A&M (Feb. 6), Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 13), McNeese (Feb. 15), Houston Christian (Feb. 20) and UIW (Feb. 22).
The Southland Conference Tournament is set for March 7-10 in Lake Charles at the Legacy Center on the McNeese campus.
