The statewide tour continued Wednesday as DPS Principal Assistant Chief Bryan J. Adams and State Fire Marshal Chief Chad P. Sonnier attended the Natchitoches Parish Chiefs meeting in the City of Natchitoches.
The meeting provided an opportunity for chiefs to share their experiences, discuss the needs of their departments and communities, and have an open conversation about the future of the fire service in Natchitoches Parish and across Louisiana.
Sonnier said the strength of Louisiana’s fire service comes from the men and women serving their communities every day and that officials want to listen, understand their needs and find ways to support them as they protect their neighbors.
Adams said the conversations are important because fire department leaders know firsthand what is working, what challenges remain and where additional support can make the greatest impact.
Sonnier and Adams will continue their statewide tour, meeting with fire service leaders and firefighters throughout Louisiana.
