A recognition ceremony will honor the 2026 Natchitoches Treasures on Friday, Oct. 16 at 11 a.m. at the Natchitoches Events Center at 750 Second Street. Light refreshments will be provided. The event is open to the public and the media.
The Natchitoches Treasures are a select group of retirees in Natchitoches who have made significant and lasting contributions to the community through their generosity, service, volunteerism, and spirit. They were chosen by a committee composed of previous Natchitoches Treasures. Treasures have been selected annually since 2008 based on nominations from community members.
The 2026 Natchitoches Treasures are Lesh Nettles Brown, Donnie Johnston, Gay Melder, Dwane Steadman, and Loletta Wynder.
The recognition ceremony will highlight the contributions made by each newly elected Treasure to the City of Natchitoches and the community and pay tribute to past Natchitoches Treasures.
