City of Natchitoches lifts boil advisory for Grand Ecore, Highway 6 East and Village of Clarence

The City of Natchitoches has officially lifted the boil water advisory issued following a water main break that affected portions of the Grand Ecore and Highway 6 East areas on Tuesday, October 13.

City officials confirmed that repairs to the damaged water main have been completed and subsequent water quality testing determined that the water is safe for consumption.

The advisory had affected numerous roads, neighborhoods, and businesses throughout the area, including the Village of Clarence and the Natchitoches Parish Port.

Following the completion of repairs, the city maintained the precautionary boil advisory while water samples underwent testing to ensure the safety of the water supply.

With testing now complete and satisfactory results confirmed, residents and businesses throughout all previously affected areas may resume normal water usage without boiling their water.

The original advisory was issued after repairs to a broken 10-inch water main in the Grand Ecore and Highway 6 East area.

The City of Natchitoches expressed appreciation to residents and businesses for their patience and understanding throughout the outage, repair process, and subsequent testing period.

City officials also recognized the efforts of Utility Department crews who worked to repair the damaged water main and restore service to affected customers.

The boil advisory has been lifted for all areas affected by the October 13 water outage, including the Village of Clarence. No additional boiling precautions are required under this advisory.
