Lakeview Jr. & Sr. High School will be closed Thursday, October 22, due to the ongoing water outage affecting the Town of Campti, according to the Natchitoches Parish School Board.

The school district announced the closure Wednesday as water system issues continued to affect the community.

According to the district, the Town of Campti is currently operating with one well out of service, contributing to low water levels and reduced water pressure throughout the system.

Following an assessment of the well Wednesday, a contractor determined that a portion of the well will need to be removed Thursday to complete necessary repairs.

Water levels are not expected to return to normal until the repairs are completed.

The Natchitoches Parish School Board stated that additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available and thanked families for their patience and understanding during the ongoing situation.
