Natchitoches Parish burn ban rescinded

Natchitoches Parish President John Salter announced that the parish-wide burn ban has been officially rescinded, effective November 4, 2026.

The decision to lift the burn ban follows an evaluation of current conditions and the determination that restrictions on outdoor burning are no longer necessary at this time.

Although the burn ban has been lifted, residents are strongly encouraged to continue exercising caution when conducting outdoor burning activities. Residents should remain mindful of weather conditions, wind speeds, and the potential for fires to spread to surrounding vegetation, structures, and neighboring properties.

Residents are reminded that all outdoor burning must comply with applicable state and local laws and regulations. The rescission of the burn ban does not authorize burning activities otherwise prohibited by law.

Natchitoches Parish Government appreciates the cooperation and patience of parish residents during the burn ban. Their efforts have helped protect lives, property, and public safety throughout the parish.
