Uncle and nephew arrested on drug charges in Natchez

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Natchez Police have arrested an uncle and nephew following a disturbance call in Natchez on Sunday morning according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Natchez Police Chief Gerald Johnson responded to a reported disturbance and assault in the 200 block of Main Street in Natchez Dec. 11 at 6:44 a.m.
After Chief Johnson arrived on the scene. He began to investigate the incident, at which time he observed suspected narcotics in plain view in the residence and requested the assistance of the NPSO.

Deputies assigned to the Patrol Division responded to assist.

A search of the residence led to the seizure of a small amount of suspected crack cocaine.

Deputies learned that Leandrew Medlow’s nephew Tyrone Medlow committed a battery on him and allegedly pushed him off of the porch.
Chief Johnson stated the disturbance was the result of money being spent for illegal narcotics and not paying bills.

As a result of the investigation, both suspects were arrested:

Leandrew Medlow, 54, of the 200 block of Main Street, Natchez. He was booked into the Natchitoches Detention Center and charged with Possession of CDS II Crack Cocaine.

Leandrew was treated at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for minor injuries as a result of the earlier disturbance and released on bond.

Tyrone Medlow, 51, of the 300 block of Main Street, Natchez. He was booked into the DC charged with Simple Battery and Possession of CDS Schedule II Crack Cocaine.

Tyrone remains in the NPDC awaiting bond.
