INTERNATIONAL PIANIST SCOTT HOLDEN TO PERFORM AT NSU

nsu-ScottHoldenPianistPianist Scott Holden will perform at Northwestern State University Monday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in MagaleRecital Hall as part of the Louisiana Piano Series International 2017-2018 season.  Tickets are $15. Students are admitted free. This annual recital series is directed by Drs. Christine Burczyk Allen and Francis Yang of the NSU Department of Music.  Holden will perform works by Wagner-Liszt, Bach, Eric Satie and Rachmaninov.  For more information, call 318-357-5758.

Holden has music degrees from the University of Michigan, Manhattan School of Music and the Juilliard School.  Studying at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, he was a Fulbright Scholar.   He is the currently the chairman of the piano program at Brigham Young University.

A prizewinner in numerous piano competitions, his 1996 Carnegie Hall debut recital was a result of winning first prize in the 1996 Leschetizky International Piano Competition. He has performed in over 40 US states, and is a member of the American Piano Quartet, with whom he has made many international tours.
