Archaeologist from Spain to present seminar on Gran Canaria

Angel Marchante, an archaeologist from the University of Las Palmas in Spain, will present a seminar on the aboriginal culture of Gran Canaria Thursday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. in the recital hall located in the Center for Performance and Technology on the campus of the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts.

Marchante will highlight some of the mysteries of the little known culture of these native people, their social structure and the geometric patterns prevalent in t heir architecture, seals and calendars.

The seminar is free and open to the public.
