Traffic stop intercepts over 1,000 suspected Alprazolam’s (Xanax) destined for the Natchitoches area

According to a Task Force official, On 5/12/2021 Agents assigned to the Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a 2015 Nissan Altima near the intersection of Rapides Dr. and Airport Rd. Upon contact, the driver was identified as, Charles McCray, 26, and the passenger as, Ladiashia Scott, 26, both of Natchitoches. Agents learned that McCray and Scott both had active warrants through the NPSO. As the investigation continued, Scott provided verbal and written consent to search her vehicle. While searching the vehicle, Agents located approximately 1,027 blue tablets labeled suspected to be Alprazolam (Xanax). McCray advised Agents that Scott did not have any knowledge of the suspected narcotics that were located.

Due to ongoing investigation, Agents were able to establish probable cause to execute a search warrant in the 300 block of Lakeview Dr. During the search, Agents recovered a 22 cal. Revolver, which McCray admitted belonged to him.

As a result of the investigation, McCray and Scott were arrest and charge with the following charges:

Charles McCray

McCray was placed into the NPDC awaiting bond. Scott was released after posting bond for the active warrant.

Based upon an interview with McCray, Agents estimate the street value of the seized narcotics to be approximately $10,000.

The Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force would like to thank the Citizens of Natchitoches for their support. Many times an investigation begins with a simple phone call or tip from a concerned citizen. For this reason the Task Force encourages all citizens to report any crimes in their neighborhoods anonymously by calling 318-357-2248, The Natchitoches Police Department, or the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

    • Yes great job!!!

But if it could be stopped from China to Mexico, then across the border (what border), then maybe there wouldn’t be as much to deal with.
