On January 2, 2022 around 7:44 p.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were notified by the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center that an individual arrived at the hospital with a single gunshot wound to the head. Upon officers arrival they were able to learn that the victim was shot near the Jackson Square Cemetery close to the J.W. Thomas Apartments.

The victim was later released from the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
