CASA Superhero Run Set for Nov. 7 in Downtown Natchitoches

CASA of Central Louisiana will host its second annual Superhero Run on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the downtown Natchitoches riverbank to support children experiencing abuse or neglect in Natchitoches, Red River and Sabine parishes.
A fun run and walk begins at 8 a.m., followed by a 5K race at 8:15 a.m. Activities will include superhero costume contests, awards and family entertainment.
Registration costs $35 through Nov. 6 and $40 on race day. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite superheroes while supporting CASA’s child advocacy efforts.
Trick or Trot 5K Scheduled Saturday in Natchitoches

A Halloween-themed Trick or Trot 5K and fun run will take place Saturday, Oct. 31, in Natchitoches.
The fun run begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 5K at 8 a.m. The event is listed among the community’s Halloween weekend activities.
The race offers residents an opportunity to participate in an early-morning fitness activity before the day’s other Halloween celebrations.
Natchitoches Parish Schools to Host Family Learning Adventure Thursday

The Natchitoches Parish School Board’s Early Childhood Network will host “Read, Count, & Blast Off: An Early Childhood Family Learning Adventure” Thursday, Oct. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Natchitoches Events Center, 750 Second St.
The event is designed for families with children from birth through age 5 and will feature reading, math activities, hands-on learning and family resources.
The program encourages parents and children to explore early literacy and math skills through interactive activities. Families throughout Natchitoches Parish are invited to participate.
NSU Monster Ball to Feature Halloween Activities Saturday
Northwestern State University
Northwestern State University will host its Monster Ball Saturday, Oct. 31, from 7 to 10 p.m. as part of the university’s Halloween celebrations.
The event will feature games, music, prizes, costume contests, food and pumpkin painting.
The activity is listed on the Natchitoches Convention and Visitors Bureau’s community events calendar.
Classic on the Cane Marching Contest Set for Saturday at NSU
Northwestern State University
The 37th annual Classic on the Cane Marching Contest will be held Saturday, Oct. 31, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Turpin Stadium in Natchitoches.
Twenty-two high school bands from Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas will compete, including Many, North DeSoto, Alexandria Senior High, Byrd, Pineville, Tioga, Haughton, Airline, Benton and West Monroe.
Advance tickets are $15 for general admission, with $10 discounted tickets for eligible attendees. General admission increases to $20 on the day of the event, with discounted admission remaining $10.
