President

Job Purpose:

  • To oversee the functioning of the Housekeeping Staff, ensuring that work is completed in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner
  • To plan, organize, and develop the overall operation of the housekeeping department
  • Ensure the highest quality of guest care is maintained at all times
  • Position is a salaried, full time position with a heavy emphasis on weekends and the expectation of being on call at all times.

Essential Functions:

  • Obtain list of vacant rooms which need to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check outs in order to prepare work assignments.
  • Assigns housekeepers their duties and inspects sleeping rooms, bathrooms, hallways, common areas, elevators, stairwells (i.e. inspects overall cleanliness of hotel). All areas of the hotel must be clean, hygienic, attractive, and orderly.
  • Updates room status’s in the property management system (PMS)
  • Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies and linen.
  • Promotes a culture of extraordinary service to guests throughout the property.  Instills 100% guest satisfaction objective in hourly associates
  • Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and takes corrective action.
  • Recruits qualified applicants. Trains and/or monitors employees in accordance with Company standards.
  • Responsible for writing employee schedules in accordance with business levels.
  • Motivates and gives direction to hourly employees.
  • Conducts coaching/counseling sessions; performance evaluations; prepares performance improvement plans, disciplinary documentation; conducts terminations.
  • Conducts orientation training of new employees to explain Company policies, housekeeping and laundry procedures, and demonstrates correct use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Monitor the appearance, standards and performance of the Housekeeping Team with an emphasis on training and teamwork

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee will be required to clean rooms as needed to ensure timely release of clean inventory to the front desk.

Computer Technician

Responsible for work of unusual difficulty involving the overall administration of planning, coordinating, and facilitating computer-related technology for all departments; and performs other related work as required. Reports to the Parish President.

Determines hardware and software needs, provides specifications, obtains quotes, installs and maintains computer hardware, software and networks. Designs software applications including databases, spreadsheets and related applications as needed to track and analyze data. Repairs and upgrades computer equipment. Designs and maintains Parish website domain, including email administration.

Associate Degree in Information Systems, Data Processing, or a related field plus two years of job related experience or at least five years of experience in installing, configuring and repairing servers, routers and network workstations.

NCPTT Summer Internships: It’s more than just a job… it’s your future

Get hands-on experience and build your resume while preserving the history of your country. Summer internships at NCPTT provide students and recent graduates an opportunity to undertake laboratory or field research in archeology, architecture, engineering, collections management, historic landscapes, materials science, or web and media.

Interns work in one of these program areas:

Archeology & Collections
Architecture & Engineering
Historic Landscapes
Materials Conservation
Web & Media – WordPress, video production with Final Cut X, or app development in iOS or Android

Projects vary from year to year but may include historic resource documentation, hands-on research, data collection, materials and product testing, or testing new technologies.

Internships last 10 weeks, which may be a Summer internship (typically starting in June) or another 10 week period during the year. However structured, all internships must be completed by Dec. 31. Interns are short-term employees of Northwestern State University. Compensation is based on experience, including academic experience. Depending on personal spending habits, the compensation provided is typically more than sufficient to cover living expenses during your stay in Natchitoches.

While housing isn’t provided, the NCPTT will help applicants find a place to rest their heads. Natchitoches is a college town and there are usually plenty of sublets and short-term rentals available in the summer. Foreign nationals (non-US citizens) applications are accepted. However, these individuals are responsible for obtaining their own visa. Please ensure application materials are in English.
Applicants should demonstrate skills and knowledge in preservation technology. This may include but not be limited to documentation, condition assessments, literature reviews, laboratory or field research, materials testing, hands-on preservation treatments, or other related skills. Undergraduate applicants must be accepted to or currently enrolled in a four-year accredited university or college program. Graduate applicants must be accepted to or currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral degree program in a discipline such as architecture, anthropology, conservation, chemistry, digital humanities, engineering, geology, geography, preservation, etc. Applications from recent graduates will also be considered.
